Dave Glissmeyer is a local Utah native and currently has a dual residence in Salt Lake City and St. George, UT.
Dave and his lovely wife Tiffany share a blessed life with their darling “dogter” Gracie (the yorkie pup), Thurston the love bird, salt water fish named (the Marine Corp), Bunny, Angel, Clowny and her anemone. OK, so we like pets.
Tiff and Dave like to travel a bit but have become more homebound as of late in caring for all of their beloved animal friends.
Dave attended school locally and enjoyed a successful career in the auto industry prior to joining Intermountain Telephone in 1981.
In 1984, seeing an opportunity to open theUtahmarket for an emerging communications platform maker, Inter-Tel, Dave started ProTel NetWorks with $3000.00 borrowed off a credit card. Within 4 years ProTel had cracked Inter-Tel prestigious Top Ten Dealer Award program by implementing an aggressive marketing program with its primary focus of delivering to the customer “more than what they paid for.”
Under Dave’s guidance ProTel has consistent been one of a handful of dealers who have placed millions of dollars worth of solutions based systems; year in year out for Inter-Tel. When Mitel purchased Inter-Tel in 2007 ProTel NetWorks gained access to Mitel’s Enterprise Class 3300 Voice Switch and all communications applications it supports. Mitel is a world leader in VoIP systems and has a global footprint enabling ProTel NetWorks to work with companies who have affiliated not only on a nationwide level but a worldwide basis as well.
ProTel NetWorks continues to expand the value added offerings to their valued customers. In 2011 ProTel NetWorks established a video surveillance and security vertical as a part of a natural migration of communications products that will help to secure a customer’s business as well as making it easier and more efficient for our customers to provide better service to their customers at a more attractive cost point. Video survellance is a valuable (and in my opinion must have) business tool that will provide and ROI (Return on Investment) for years to come.
2012 also saw ProTel NetWorks forge a tighter dealer relationship with Mitel Systems. Mitel is a manufacturer known for their reliable and simple architecture and administration interface which appeals to a large segment of the “do it yourself” customers in our market. Mitel has “upped the ante” in the telecommunications market by being their first Tier 1 manufacturer of Enterprise Class phones systems that are soley software based. What does this mean? No more hardware obsolecence or “end of life” statements to the end user. All of Mitel’s Enterprise Class software modules are designed to run and run well on a VMware platform to give the demanding end user the highest availablity and reliability possible.
Mitel is now one of the very exclusive members of the Mitel Exclusive Business Partner group. It is about the same thing as having a factory office with friendly local service help and you can’t beat that.
The rapid change in the way we are communicating has brought both challenges and opportunities for tremendous growth right to ProTel’s doorstep. Major milestones that ProTel has ticked off their “to do” list in the past year are:
- Deploy and offers to customers a cloud based “hosted” solution for small businesses that do not want the hassle of maintaining their own system.
- Designed and deployed a CO-Hosted VoIP solution for a major financial institution to serve all of their branches nationwide
- Designed and deployed a customer hosted VoIP solution for a major name brand personal grooming products company that serves their company stores across the nation
- Designed and deployed a custom “hybrid solution” for a major commercial lender that was designed with secure encryption to serve their major markets.
- Deployed both Mitel 3300 systems and supporting applications successfully on a VMWare infrastructure in both public and public/private cloud based environments.
One business fundamental that has NOT changed over the years is the commitment to customer care exhibited every day by each and every ProTel Staffer. The customer has always come first and ProTel and that will never change.
